Dec 3rd 2008 Having The Proper Camping Equipment

Camping Equipment Video

The proper camping gear is what is going to make your camping trip fun and exciting as well as safe. You will need the tent or camper for sure, but you also need gear such as pet camping supplies if you have a pet along, flashlights, a portable grill, lawn furniture, coolers, and heaters and insect repellent. If you think about it, you will probably need it when you are camping. This goes for your cooking supplies, bedding, and cleaning and bathing supplies. When you go camping, you do need some camping gear to be happy and safe.

The number one thing on your list for pet camping gear should be the pet tag that is motion activated. This going to help you see the dog, but also allows others to see the dog when it is pitch black outside. This is going to protect your pet and others from a potentially dangerous encounter. You should also include a dog bed or a lounger for them.

If you plan to camp for long periods, you are probably going to want a screen tent. This is also found in a camping equipment store. They come in different sizes with or without privacy flaps. The ones with the privacy flaps are nice for nighttime sitting. You can put your television outside, sit down, and relax in the comfort of the screen tent without anyone seeing you.

The next part of your camping equipment is the sleeping bag. Even if you have a pop up camper, you might want some sleeping bags. They have different ratings and different styles available. The sleeping bag should be rated for cold weather even if you plan to use them in the summer. Some summer nights can be cool, especially is certain areas.

Camping equipment includes utensils, cookware, dishes and water bottles. These are the standard camping needs, you might have more, but the basics are what will get you by when camping. The water bottles are nice because they are capped and it prevents bugs from entering your drinks.

Some people will not need the pet camping gear, but some may need gear for kids. The idea behind camping is to have everything that is going to make it fun, safe and relaxing. Whatever you need to accomplish this should be a part of your camping gear.

Dec 3rd 2008 AZ Airfare and Adventures

The state of Arizona has so much to offer and now with Arizona airfare being affordable in the shoulder and off-peak seasons you really should visit and discover the state.  You may want to tour the Grand Canyon with the glory of nature showing you just how persistence and time can erode something into a true thing of wonder.  Or you could want to tour some of the outstanding museums the state has to offer with the rich history of the Native Americans, Hispanic culture and western culture all available in different locations.

This is a great way to discover your Arizona travel guide.  The Heard Museum in Central Arizona is a must see for everyone interested in the history of the area. Here you will be exposed to some of the best in traditional and contemporary American Indian art.  You will find ten exhibition galleries that include 5 long-term and 5 rotating exhibitions with two different locations for you to tour.

While you are in the Phoenix area you may want to tour Pueblo Grande Museum which is an archaeological site museum and repository. The focus of the museum is supporting the understanding of prehistory, history, and ethnology of inhabitants of the Southwest.  The museum is located at a 1,500 year-old Hohokam village ruins.  You can discover reproductions of the prehistoric Hohokam homes when exploring the ruin trail.  At the site is also one of the last remaining intact Hohokam irrigation canals. This is a remarkable piece of Hohokam history.

A few hours to the southeast, you will find wonderful Tuscon attractions.  Travel on over to Tombstone where you can relive the Old West.  Tombstone is known as “The Town Too Tough To Die,” and is the most famous of Arizona’s old mining camps.  This area produced millions of dollars of gold and silver during a seven year period.  While you are visiting Tombstone you will have the chance to see Boothill Graveyard, the old Tombstone Courthouse and see many of the residents dressed in period clothing.

Outside of Tucson you can visit the Titan Missile Museum which was home to one of the Titan II Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles.  There were 18 Titan II missile sites located near the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.  The Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan Missile site that remains intact; all the others were destroyed.  You can take a guided tour that takes you into the launch control room with a simulated launch and then go on through the 200 ft tunnel for a close up inspection at the Titan II missile.  It’s an awesome tour, be sure to make time to stop here.

Travel on over to Yuma and tour the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park.  Here you will be able to visit the prison that housed 3,069 prisoners, 29 of whom were female.  The prison was last opeartional in 1909 before the prisoners were moved to a new facility.  Now you can visit the prison and see the front gate that is so familiar to anyone that has watched western movies.
