Jul 1st 2009 Three holiday suggestions for you this summer

Here are 3 holidays that I think you should consider this year:

Jamaica – What a fantastic place, first of all it’s in the Caribbean, which means we’re off to a good start. Sandy beaches and sun all of the time, it’s guaranteed to keep you smiling. Although you can do this in many other places, swimming with dolphins gives you an amazing feeling, in Jamaica your surroundings feel even more naturalistic, and you feel like a member of the marine family. There are Sting rays to go for a swim with too, this is more relaxing than the Dolphins, and not quite so energetic. If your not to keen on swimming with these marine creatures, then you can visit the Bob Marley museum, great fun for everyone. Try Jamaica holidays, they really are special.

Cuba – This place is another destination in the Caribbean where you can enjoy the sun. Cuba has a huge range of different things for us to do, so hear a couple for you to think about. You can go to a cigar factory and learn to make a cigar and actually make one yourself, if you don’t want to smoke it then give is to a friend as a holiday pressie, but its great fun. Also there is Varadero, this place has one of the most beautiful coastlines you will ever see, and is contains a range of pubs, bars and restaurants. Cuba has prodcued many famous figures including the likes of Fidel Castro. The Nacional hotel is a famous landmark in Cuba, it has starred in gangster films with the likes of Frank Sinatra, and has had People such as Winston Churchill stay. Cuba holidays are absolutely booming don’t miss out.

Dubai – Well I think that you all know how popular this place is but I will help shed a bit more light. The thing with Dubai is it feels like its designed to make us feel special. Dubai gives us everything we could want if we were millionaires, and we don’t even need the money when we go over there to be treated as such. Dubai is the center for gold trading, so when you go to the markets, and you must, just make sure that the gold market is doing well. Go on one of the best hot air balloon rides in the world, this will give you a fantastic view of Dubai surrounded by a desert. You should try going on holidays to Dubai, they are so uplifting.

Jul 1st 2009 Independent travelling with local tour guides

You love to get the experience of being in a foreign country and being part of the locals’ life? You’re free minded and don’t want to depend on the decisions of other people? You like to learn more about a country than just seeing the main monuments, like being part of their life?

If you recognize yourself in this description then you should think about taking a local tour guide for your next trip!

Just compare it with the places you know best: are your favourite places crowded with tourists? Maybe you even think that it’s a wonder that they still don’t appear in any tourist guide?

With a local tour guide you go to different places than generally visited sights and additionally you get a better understanding of it. And they don’t only show the locations, you won’t believe how many details like traditions and legends they can tell you.

And if you are lucky, you may even meet a local that takes you to his home and cooks you a characteristic meal! Perhaps a local tells you a restaurant where you can eat the best shrimps you’ve ever tasted. And you don’t need to mistrust a local tour guide; you can be sure that he’s doing everything so that you can enjoy the best time you can imagine.

Yes you are the above explained, independent traveller? Then contact a local tour guide for you next holiday!

You are also good at telling histories, fascinating people and you have good knowledge about your city then think about the idea of offering your own services. And you can kill two birds with one stone: helping other people and getting some money for your next trip! Give it a try, you can only win!
