Golf is a growing and ever expanding sport and mixed in with holidays has become a niche market for all those interested in the sport to partake in. However some of the best golf courses in the world can be difficult to find, so why not start in the place where these golf courses have become legendary, in South Africa.

The Arabella Golf Course is rated as the number one golf course in the Western Cape. This course is situated at the Bot River Lagoon with stunningly beautiful surroundings. This course in particular has developed the reputation of being one of the hardest courses to conquer in South Africa. Many celebrities enjoy spending their time practicing and relaxing here, including the likes of Arnold Palmer.

Next up is the Pearl Valley Golf course, which is also the most expensive on our list. Situated in Cape Town as well as a few others, this course is unique in the prospect that it was actually designed by one of the worlds most famous golfers Jack Nicklaus. This is by far one of the most underrated Golf courses in the world; it is also one of the most challenging if not the most in South Africa.

The Gary Player Country Club is the final one on our top Golf course list for South Africa. Many professional and top golfers across the world, believe that this is probably the most challenging golf course in the world. This course has played host too many golf tournaments including the Nebank Million Dollar Golf Tournament, which made this golf course so widely known. This Golf Course can be found in Sun City, and is considered by many to be the leading resort and course in Africa.

Golf holidays are on the rise, along with Diving holidays, especially Red Sea diving holidays; these are a complete alternative to Golfing holidays!

I love winter time especially when everything is covered in snow. I live in the South so I don’t get to see much snow. We decided to go on vacation we don’t even care where it is as long as it has lots of snow and great hot tubs. I started doing research online to find a place we would all enjoy and I ran across Gatlinburg, Tennessee. So last year was our first vacation there and it was gorgeous. Everyone had an amazing time.

The best way to find a great vacation destination is to look online. You will be surprised at how many great deals you can find. You can even find vacation packages sometimes that include travel, accommodations, and food. Before booking your accommodations you will have to decide whether you want to stay in a condo, hotel, cabin, or chalet. Some places my not have condos and others my not have cabins for rent. It depends on where you are going.

When we went to Tennessee on vacation we stayed in a cabin and it was great. At night we all put our sleepwear on and sat around in front of the fireplace. We just sat there and talked for hours. This was definitely my favorite part of the vacation. If you decide to vacation somewhere a little warmer you wont need a fire place. Even though it does make for a warm family moment.

After a while the children started to fall asleep by the fire and we covered them with a blanket and climbed on the couch together so we could read our suspense books. Personally I like to read action suspense type books but my wife always reads the romantic suspense type. This vacation brought my family together again even if it was just for a few days.

When you have teenagers and grown kids, they start to do there own thing so often that you barely see them anymore. A vacation like this is just what all families need to bring there family back together even if it is for a short time. Any time with your family is good time.

After choosing a destination and booking the accommodations there is still one more thing you will want to do. Take a little time to do research to find activities for the whole family. We all wanted to ski but we needed to learn first, so I found a website online and found a ski instructor that was willing to teach us all.

If you don’t have your own ski equipment there are shops that you can rent them from. We bought each person in the family a ski helmet so they would be able to take it home as a souvenir but we rented the rest. It does not matter where you go or what you do as long as it is with the whole family. Family is what is important.

When you think of holidays you probably think of getting away from work for a bit, topping up your tan and maybe letting your hair down. However, one of the fastest growing sectors in the holiday industry is the singles holiday, especially 5 star cruises singles holidays. This is where people go away to lovely destinations with the goal of finding some like-minded people and hopefully building relationships. Below we look at some top tips for meeting the right person and making a good impression when you do.

Get a tan. If you are going to a hot location like you might do on Cunard cruises, you really don’t want to be turning up looking like a milk bottle. First impressions are the most important thing when meeting someone so make sure you have some color to you. this doesn’t mean going up 5 skin tones, just a light tan that shoes you get outside once in a while and take care of your appearance

Relax. If you are uptight, nervous or shifty no one will want to talk to you. Most often everyone on singles holidays are in the same boat so to speak and will be much more receptive if you just be yourself and let your guard down a little. If the situation were reversed and you met someone very nervous, your advice would probably be to calm down and don’t worry. This is because it’s the best advice so make you follow it

Enjoy yourself. Following on from the last point, finding someone and living happily ever after should not be the be all and end all of your holiday. When all is said and done, holidays are about having some time to enjoy yourself and not worry about things, and this should be the same wherever you are at whatever you’re doing. If its not to be then it’s not to be, there will be plenty more opportunities. For singles cruises try Regent Seven Seas Cruises

The Algarve is made up of the coastal area across the southern part of Portugal. Visitors enjoy the miles and miles of tremendous beaches and the pristine clear turquoise water. Finding an Algarve flight weeks in advance can save you money and prevent you from losing precious vacation time.

You never have to worry about the weather in Algarve. It is warm most of the year, making it a great place for visitors of all ages. There are all kinds of activities you can participate in.

The Captain Hook Cruise is an experience that visitors never forget. The boat you will ride on is made to look like a ship the pirates used, complete with sails. You will sail along the coastline with the wind in your face while you enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The cruise will stop along the way to give those who wish to swim an opportunity to enjoy the crystal clear water. You may even have the opportunity to see a school of dolphins while you are out. The cruise leaves from and returns to the marina in Albufeira.

Another boat tour you won’t want to miss is an all day tour that will take you forty miles down the Algarve coast. You will enjoy seeing things such as towns, beautiful beaches, intriguing fishermen’s villages, cities, cliffs, unbelievable rock formations and caves.

You will be on the water all day except for a two hour break at lunchtime. You will have the opportunity to enjoy an isolated beach that no one can reach from land. You can dive, swim or sunbathe and possibly watch the dolphins play. BBQ pork steak and all the side dishes are on the menu for lunch.

To tour the inside of the caves, the guests will change to a dinghy. You will be amazed at the different rock formations you will see. This tour is an unforgettable experience.

You will not lack for things to do on your vacation. The Lagos Zoo is home to many plants, birds and animals. It is a place families love to visit. Next on the list should be Aqualand where you can cool off, and slide down the high water slides. It is a very large water park.

One of the best activities in the Algarve is horseback riding because there are no end to the places you can ride. Stop by Red Horse Ranch and rent a horse for an hour or longer. They offer overnighters, all day trips and weeklong safaris.

If you love to golf, the Algarve is the place for you. It is a golfer’s haven with thirty-five different golf courses and weather that is perfect nearly every day of the year. Rain is the only thing that keeps golfers away. The best season of all is from late in the fall to late spring.

Thousands of tourists from around the world flock into the Algarve every year. It is one of the most popular vacation spots in the world. The main drawing cards are the beaches, the wide variety of things to see and do and the warm sun. Don’t forget to book your Algarve flight as soon as possible.

Bath may be no more than 13 miles from the city of Bristol but it is incredibly different in a great many ways. Bath is much more leisurely than its neighbour. With its Georgian buildings, elegant crescents and countless open spaces it is an amazingly popular take a short city break.

The city has been important for at least two thousand years. Because of the hot springs, unique in Britain, it was a shrine to the Celts. It was not until the arrival of the Romans that, because of their technical expertise, best use of the springs was made. Right up until today the Roman Baths are a popular tourist attraction.

Until the 16th century Bath was just a town, In the year fifteen ninety Queen Elizabeth I granted the town a Royal Charter, having paid a visit to the town in 1574. In the eighteenth century the city of Bath became an incredibly popular spa resort where etiquette was primary and Beau Nash ruled the social scene.

It was during this time that Jane Austen, who lived in the city, wrote Persuasion and Northanger Abbey, and where Gainsborough, the artist, became a famous portraitist and landscape artist. If you are interested you can can discover more about Jane Austen, Bath's most famous resident, at the fascinating Jane Austen Centre.

There are masses of visitor attractions in Bath including, the already mentioned Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and The Holburne Museum of Arts. The Assembly Rooms is a must see tourist attraction and this is where you will find the interesting Museum of Costume which displays a selection of historical and modern dress.

Many people choose to visit Bath for a day but if you would rather not rush around it is far better to stay for a few days and walk around peacefully exploring all the city has to offer.

If you are planning a vacation in Bath it is important to know that although there are many hotels and guest houses in Bath finding Bath bed and breakfast can sometime be rather difficult. It is because of this that it is crucially important to book your accommodation at the earliest opportunity.

Finally I would like to wish that you have a thoroughly enjoyable vacation in the amazing city of Bath, England.

Australia's iconic city of Sydney is the site of magnificent architecture and awesome views. Both new and old cultures are blended in Sydney. Getting here is possible from anywhere at the Sydney International Airport. You will have no difficulty, either by taxi or hiring a car, in getting from there to whatever destination you choose.

It is imperative that you fully understand the terms of your car rental agreement. Most specialist insurance products such as rti gap insurance and breakdown insurance will generally be taken care of by the hire car company so you do not need to worry about these things. You will need cover for 24 hours and full information as to what to do if you are unfortunate enough to experience a breakdown!

Once you have your transport and of course your travel insurance sorted, enjoy discovering this amazing and vibrant city. Here are some of the many things that make Sydney such a great place to visit.

Sydney Opera House - The Sydney Opera House is actually more than just an opera house. It have five different performance spaces which include dramatic arts, the opera theatre and concert hall. The courtyard area is also the venue for concerts and festivals.

This is one of the most recognised buildings in the world. Over one million two coloured tiles cover the roof of this amazing building. Guided tours of the Opera House are available or you can stroll round the impressive building independently.

Bondi Beach - Bondi Beach is one of the most photographed beaches in the country. It is crescent shaped and more than a half mile long. This was the setting for the Olympic Beach Volleyball in 2000. A cliff-top walk starting from here will take you from the awesome Bondi to Coogee. Take the chance to get a bargain in one of the Sunday markets and to savour the numerous cafes and restaurants.

Museum of Contemporary Art - The Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in a stunning Art Deco building. The collection is extensive with over 7,000 pieces and there are four floors of temporary exhibits and one floor that houses the permanent exhibits.

As well as contemporary Aboriginal art, you can see post modern art and sculptures here.Works from Hockney, Warhol and Christo are permanently exhibited. Each day offers free tours; a cafe is also available.

Sydney Harbour Bridge - The Sydney Harbour Bridge, known to the locals as the Coat Hanger, was the longest single span bridge in the world at the time it was constructed in 1932. It spans 1605 feet and has two train tracks and eight lanes for traffic. If you are interested in learning about the construction of the bridge, you can see a film about it in the Pylon Lookout Museum. Crossing the bridge is free for cyclists and pedestrians.

Bridgeclimb - The Bridgeclimb is for the adventurous who want to see a panoramic view of Sydney. The top of Sydney Harbour Bridge is a significant landmark; to climb there is a significant achievement. Only by climbing 1,337 steps will you be able to gaze upon the unrivalled view from the top.

You will also get a complimentary group photo of the climb. To do the complete tour and climb you should allow yourself at least three and a half hours. A two hour express climb can be done if you are short of time. Either the evening or the day is suitable for the climb. Children under ten are not allowed to make the climb.

Manly Beach - Manly Beach was Australia's first resort area and offers a carefree relaxed environment. It has many fine restaurants and is the place to go when looking for some fun nightlife. There are many great pubs and art galleries in this area.

The beach is on a peninsula surrounded by the ocean, Sydney Harbour National Park and the Harbour. Sydney boasts several festivals: food and wine in June, and jazz, The Manly, in October.

Taronga Zoo - The Taronga Zoo has been open since 1916. More than 4,000 animals live in this wonderful zoological garden. This position reveals Sydney Harbour in all its glory. Whilst you are here you can have your picture taken with a koala. The delights of the Bird Show and the Seal Show are evidenced by the large crowds they always attract. Tropical birds from Northern Australia and Papua New Guinea can be seen in the rainforest aviary.

Sydney Tower Centrepoint - The Sydney Tower Centrepoint is the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere. Nothing in Sydney is as high as the structure's 1,000 feet. Immediately apparent will be the extraordinary view from Wollongong to the Blue Mountains. The tower is extra resistant to strong winds by containing a hefty 35,000 gallon water tank. You also get to see the OzTrek which is a virtual tour of Australia.

There are two revolving restaurants where you can enjoy fine food and a great ever changing view. Every year a race is done here and athletes race to see who can make it to the top of the tower the fastest.

You will be fascinated by Sydney and its huge variety of sites and activities. A visit to this is obligatory for anyone visiting Australia.

Right like many others you are preparing to go on your Sharm El Sheikh holiday. You are almost all ready to finish packing and then you realise that you haven’t checked to see if there is anything important you may need. Make sure that you remember all of these blatantly obvious items, so here is a quick reminder, your passport and Sun Cream!

So what do we know about Sharm El Sheikh, well a couple of clearly stated points are:

It is very warm and in most cases boiling hot.

The sun is completely inescapable at least until night time.

Now as for the sand, it does quite literally get everywhere (I mean Everywhere).

The Ocean is very close by; this is after all a coast line city.

Now what can we establish from this? This information can be used to help us make some good decisions about what we need. Remember that although this is a hot country it is also very conservative. We all know that it can be very hot out there, but it is important to remember that some people from Egypt take offence to flesh being shown on public, so try to save sun bathing until you get back to the hotel. Make sure you have a hat, it is one of the most simple pieces of clothing to have with you, and it can be a life saver, especially saving your head from the heat.

If you like your swimming or diving, then make sure that you sort your self out with a wet suit before you get out there, if you haven’t booked with a diving tour operator, it could be very difficult to obtain a Wet Suit. Don’t take a few pairs of High heels, ladies we all know that you like to look nice, but trainers are extremely important here, even hiking boots in some cases, there is a lot of sand, and soft roads.

Sharm El Sheikh holidays for all, this is such a popular holiday these days, now however people still seem more interested in Caribbean holidays and on the other side of Egypt, Hurghada holidays.

A holiday in South Africa could be loads of fun. Especially when the Northern half of the world is suffering under a thick layer of snow, South Africans are relaxing on wide open beaches enjoying the African sun. South Africa is also one of the most affordable tourist destinations in the world and perhaps the only one offering first world facilities at third world prices.

Self-catering holidays are very enjoyable and affordable options when you visit South Africa. The country has numerous top quality resorts where there’s fully fitted chalets for rent a prices that you will never find in the Western World. Our family recently rented chalet near the resort town of Hermanus in the Southern Cape which even had the latest model delonghi oven in the modern kitchen!

There’s a variety of car rental firms at Cape Town International Airport. You will need a credit card to rent a car from all of them, although in town there’s a couple that rents out older cars for cash. Always check out the car’s body in the presence of a company representative. Otherwise you will be liable to pay if they find scratches or dents on the car when you return it.

If you’re traveling with a baby, try to get a car that’s fitted with a britax car seat. This will not only ensure baby’s comfort, but also his safety. The additional cost of this is minimal compared to the advantages to be gained from having it.

Then head out of town with the N2. On the way you will pass the seaside towns of Strand and Gordon’s Bay on your right, before ascending Sir Lowry’s pass. There’s a lookout point at the top of the pass from where you have a magnificent view of the Cape Peninsula and False Bay right below you. On the other side of the mountain you will enter corn and apple country. There are many apple farms producing for the export market near the town of Grabouw.

A hundred kilometers from Cape Town you will enter the lovely seaside resort of Hermanus. Here you can find numerous self-catering resorts. Settle in and start to explore the beautiful surroundings. There are many restaurants overlooking the ocean near the town square. There’s also a flea market where you can buy clothing and artifacts made by local artists. You will also run into hawkers walking around offering watches for sale. I once bought a men’s sport watch from one of the that lasted exactly three days!

If you don’t have fun in the Hermanus area, you have only yourself to blame. The scenery is beautiful, the people are great and the numerous restaurants mean you can eat out at a different place every day. There are also boat trips and a visit to one of the surrounding towns is very interesting.

Greek Islands holidays are a dream for millions of people around the world. With all that is on offer there, it is easy to see why these islands continue to have such an irresistible appeal to so many people.

For some the thought of the magical Greek Isles is a once in a lifetime adventure to be savored and explored. Others have made Greek Islands holidays an annual event that they can share with friends and families.

Whether it is an action packed holiday (with hiking, sailing and scuba diving being just a few of the available activities) that you are looking for, or a tranquil, peaceful one, Greece has something for you. You will not be disappointed!

One of the most intriguing elements of travel among the Greek Islands is that there are so many differences between each one. If you are lucky enough to spend 1-2 weeks exploring several of these charming island paradises you will soon discover that each of them possesses a special identity and beauty.

Greek Islands holidays are richly filled with spectacular beauty, deep emotion and breathtaking opportunities to connect with ancient civilizations. You can experience classic Greek architecture and history when you visit the Cyclades Islands and then be whisked away to compare this lifestyle with the Venetian influenced culture that is present on the Ionian Islands.

You might want to consider the Sardonic Gulf Islands, which are close to mainland Greece, making them more accessible and easier to fit to a trip that also includes a visit to Athens, the capital city. Other options include the Islands of Crete, Corfu and Rhodes.

If you choose one of the Greek Islands holidays that involve the northern or central area of Greece then you will most likely be able to visit the Sporades Islands. These are islands that feature a quieter, more intimate atmosphere and some of the most exotic landscapes to be found anywhere in this region.

—

If you think this article was of value and you would love to read more in-depth information on holidays to the Greek Islands such as Santorini, come through to our specialty page which discusses the Greek Islands and Santorini extensively for travelers.
